Alloy wheel bolt pattern

Wheel bolt pattern guide: how to find yours, and common truck patterns

Before you look at a single wheel design, you need one number: your bolt pattern. Get it wrong and the wheel simply will not go on.

What a bolt pattern means

A bolt pattern such as 6x139.7 has two parts: the number of lug studs (6) and the diameter of the circle they sit on, in millimetres (139.7). You will also see it in inches — 6x139.7 is the same as 6x5.5.

How to find yours

  • Check your owner's manual or the specs for your exact year, make and model.
  • Count the lug nuts, then measure centre-to-centre across the circle (easy on even numbers: measure straight across between opposite studs).
  • Or call us with the year, make and model and we will tell you.

Common patterns for the trucks we see most

Truck Bolt pattern
Ford F-150 (2004 onward) 6x135
Chevy Silverado 1500 / GMC Sierra 1500 6x139.7
RAM 1500 (2019 onward, new body) 6x139.7
RAM 1500 (2012–2018) and 1500 Classic 5x139.7
Toyota Tacoma (2005 onward) 6x139.7
Toyota Tundra (2007–2021) 5x150
Toyota Tundra (2022 onward) 6x139.7
RAM 2500 / 3500 8x165.1

Bolt pattern is not the whole story. Offset, centre bore and brake clearance matter too — which is why we check the full fitment before a wheel is ordered, and why many aftermarket wheels need hub-centric rings.
